Indubitably. But what prompted thanks to God on this particular occasion? :)

so true... without them, the post would have read: "ThankGodforthumbs."

Were you hitchhiking? I'd have picked you up and given you a lift... :)

Enjelani! Here I am, waiting for weeks to be exposed to a profound thought -- and what do I get? Thank God for thumbs. There must be a deeper meaning in this for the initiated. Why thumbs? What about the little pinky finger? A weakling, it is true, and didn't contribute as much to the evolution of homo sapiens. But at least he's a team player, standing as he does behind the rest, not arrogantly setting himself apart. And the index finger? She may not see as much action now as she once did, but how would you learn the world as a kid if you couldn't point to things? The ring finger, groomed to bear a ring and for no other purpose -- don't you feel sorry for her? The middle finger, taller than the rest but too mediocre to deserve even a name, except in terms of his relation to the others? And what about the big toe?

;)

I just wish we could still brachiate like in the good old days.

thumbs? or opposable thumbs?

pets with opposable thumbs are a bad idea.

i'm bummed about the fundamental incompatibility between opposable thumbs and claws. guess that's the sad tradeoff. tool-making? or delivering ragged gory death with your bare hands! unless you're Deathstrike, of course.

thumbs: the precursor to lollipops. Mmm... sugar.
