31 March 2003 (Monday): salad solves everything

Sanity-checklist for foul moods and stressing about small stuff:

1. When was the last time you got 8 hours of sleep? Thought so.
2. When was the last time you ate? Something other than a cookie?
3. Did you just spend the whole day alone in your apartment again?
4. Isn't this the same thing you were stressing out about last week, only you kept procrastinating on it?
5. With all due respect, why the hell don't you just do it already?
6. There, don't you feel better?
7. Stop beating yourself up. No good for the complexion. It's done now, isn't it?
8. Now go tell some people how cool you think they are.
9. Fix yourself a salad.
10. And take a nap.

Umm...

Please to get out of my mind maam :)

You are documenting the conversation i've been having with myself over the past week (sans salad).

I can't say enough how much the state of my life doesn't change for the better unless I force a chance upon it. Just do it already indeed...

i like 5. but i keep getting held up by 3, which leads to 7 feelings and occasionally creates cycles of 1s. the aim, i think, is to get better at managing 4s, so that i'll wind up in a blissfull state of 6.

#9: does this entail having non-drink foodstuffs in one's fridge? :)

i am a lucky innocent that has never *ahem* experienced any of these "wonderfull" pleasures of life. let's see, sleep is fine; lunch: i had a cookie, but i actually had a sandwich, too; no apartment; yay! procrastination, my favorite; i should and i am; no, my core teacher just decided to add to the repertoire; no, there's more, see?; ok, but do they care what i think, and do they think the same?; too much trouble, i prefer bagel bites; no need, i actually get sleep, remember?.
hope i've made all you old people feel old. :D

#4 and #5 are two that I really should be telling myself. But hearing it from somebody else, from time to time, helps just the same.

You, Enji, and the rest of you - you know who you are - are too damn cool! I love you all. Now off to take a nap.
