28 September 2002 (Saturday): if i may sound cocky for a moment

I think I've gotten the hang of this whole life thing.

Either that or my demons are on vacation.

Probably the latter.

Not having been there yet, I can't comment on getting the hang of life, though if that's the case, I'm definitely happy for you :)

But even if it is the latter, that the demons are on vacation, as you put it - there's one really good way to look at it:

At least it's *work* for the demons to be tormenting you. It may be spiteful to say so, but I'm glad it's not all just fun for them. >=)

Huzzah! Demons be banished! :) I'm right there with mello still trying to find my way.

One of the things that has stuck with me from the buddhist readings i've been exploring lately is that there is a huge difference between knowing how to get somewhere, and actually putting forth the effort to walk step after step in order to reach it.

At this point for me I think it's pretty much just a matter of putting the things i've learned into practice, day after day, and allowing them to become natural and commonplace.

Indeed for me, staying put where I am and languishing in the familiar, no matter how unproductive, is oh so seductive and probably the biggest barrier to me living the life I want to.

Maybe I can leech enough of a positive vibe off of the trail you've left to get myself moving along my own path ;)

:) yay, low demon content. "for the low demon lifestyle ... "

remember the feeling of being demon-free. sometimes i find that invoking the memory of the feeling of that freedom works as a talisman to keep them at bay for a bit longer when they (inevitably) return. perhaps someday i can ward against them without even thinking about it ... your mileage may vary, of course. this product *may* contain peanuts.

That's just cuz I cooked you a dinner . You're feeling sated and full of home-cooked goodness. Everyone can conquer life like that. ;-)

My demons, too, are away momentarily, but I can see them in the distance, gambolling about on the lawn. I have to enjoy this cup of tea before they come back in the house demanding dinner and some attention.

I am so happy for you! Can't wait for the big CD release, and to hear more about Ann Arbor.
